I just spotted this beauty on Craigslist for $65. If I'm not careful, people will start calling me "the crazy faux bamboo lady" (I suppose that's more desirable than the "crazy cat lady").

FOUND: Brass Faux Bamboo Bar Cart
Ladies and gentlemen, today is a good great day! I can finally say that I am the proud owner of a brass faux bamboo bar cart! As I mentioned before, I had been searching high and low (multiple times a day) on Craigslist, Ebay, and Goodwill stores for one. On Thursday night last week I was searching Craigslist when I finally found one!!! It wasn't exactly what I had been looking for, but it was close enough- especially when you consider it was priced at $50!!
Thanks to everyone who left me kind words of encouragement! I tried to make it into as "fun" of a road trip as possible. Here's how it went down:
I travelled 173 miles upstate for this baby. The trip took me nearly five hours (I shaved off about an hour thanks to my lead foot). I passed the time with a play list that included the likes of: N Sync, Coldplay, Billy Joel, and one of my new favorite groups:
I spent all morning on Sunday cleaning the cart. The brass had little speckles of discoloration all over it. I used Brasso, Bar Keeper's Friend, "goop" recipes, and soapy water. Wow! It was a lot of work. It's not perfect still, but it's good enough for now!
I'm not done styling it yet either. I'd like to find a different tray to go on the top shelf (maybe tortoise shell or faux python) and some other fun things. Did I mention I already have a wine bar? I stole some accessories from it, but I feel bad leaving the poor guy empty! Suggestions?! Let me know what you think!

I'm especially fond of the lamp cord. Classy!

Sneak Peak
Guess what I did yesterday??!! If you didn't read yesterday's post, from this picture you're probably guessing I drank large quantities of wine. Nope (I had two glasses to be exact), but I did go buy my wine cart!!!
Tune in tomorrow for the details!!!

Find of the Century????
Ok, readers, I need your help. Yes, I know it's Friday night. I'm sorry, but that's just too bad. I need to know something. Is this brass bar cart worth a six hour round trip and $50? Yes, $50! I've wanted one for SO long. I search Craigslist and ebay everyday (multiple times a day). This is the first time I've ever seen one in my area. It doesn't have a handle like I'd hoped for, but beggars can't be choosers I suppose.
SO- is it worth it??? I'm only asking because once I decide to get it, I'll become paranoid that someone else will buy it, so I'll likely leave early tomorrow morning to pick it up! HELP! Is it a stylish brass faux bamboo bar cart, or I am just overzealous to have finally found one?!

Faux Bamboo Night Stands Part 2
My holiday break of nearly three weeks is officially over. Sigh. It's so much fun being a stay-at-home-person! I didn't get our bedroom painted like I hoped, but I'll have plenty of snowy weekends over the next few months to paint I suppose. I did, however, end up changing the hardware on my faux bamboo night stands:
As they appeared when they were first delivered:
Painted with original hardware:
Current state:
Initially I wanted to use pulls from Restoration Hardware, but I think they were $13 each. I found nearly identical ones from Martha Stewart available at Home Depot for $4.49 each:
Have a great week!!!
XOXO,
Kelly
