Inspiration Friday

I spent about five minutes trying to figure out what to title this post. I kept typing "Ideas for the bedroom", hoping that if I re-typed it a fifth time it wouldn't sound quite so.... dirty. It didn't work, so "Inspiration Friday" it is.

Anyhow, we've been shopping for a king-sized bed. I've mentioned before that I'm a crazy, violent sleeper, so we need all the space we can get.

This is what we'll be working with in our new home:

The bed doesn't HAVE to go there, but it probably makes the most sense to go there based on the layout of the room. We'll play around with it though. If this is where the bed goes and we do buy a king, obviously we won't be using night stands.

Here's what I'm thinking:

this West Elm headboard (or something similar)

and a pair of these sconces in lieu of lamps on nightstands.

What do you think? If the bed ends up working on the other wall we can use this as a sitting area or for a  dresser perhaps.

Are you sick of hearing my ideas for our new home? If the answer is yes then I'm really sorry.... because I really have no intention to stop blogging about it.... :)

Happy Friday!!

Christmas Table Inspiration

Thank you, Country Living, for providing so many inspirational photos for my Christmas table!

Love this idea!! I only have one kind of napkin ring; I could easily make my own. I'm sure Luca would be more than willing to help me with this project; she loves to eat greenery!

Remember this post??!! This is exactly what I was envisioning, but with gold julep vases instead!

XOXO,

Kelly

Eddie Ross- Inspired Mantel

Last week I saw this post over on Eddie Ross' site, and I loved the mantel he decorated!

Eddie's Mantel:

Beautiful, isn't it??

I decided I would try it. The results are nowhere near as good, but I broke three ornaments in the process, had to pry glass shards out of Luca's mouth, and cut my thumb, so I decided to leave it as is for now!!!!

In other news, while putting up our tree, I started to get the feeling that my little fig tree was feeling left out. I'm worried he's battling seasonal affective disorder. We aren't getting much sun right now in Ohio; to make matters worse Luca threatens his life on a daily basis (see photo below). To try to lift his spirits, I decorated him as well!

I'll post the rest of our Christmas decor photos tonight; stay tuned!!

XOXO,

Kelly

Entryway Inspiration

*Entryway of Johnson Hartig

I've been looking for inspiration for our entryway. It's a small space, but I think a dresser on casters would look great. I've been scouring Craigslist and have found a few that are along the lines of what I want, but nothing that's really excited me. The first photo isn't an entryway, but I love the chest of drawers with the mirror and rock quartz lamp!
