My Most Treasured Christmas Decorations

I think I'm finally out of my anti-decorating-for-Christmas-funk. Over the weekend I brought up all of our decorations from the basement and started decking the halls. *Stay tuned for more photos!

This time of year always makes me so thankful for my family, friends, and all the special Christmas memories I have from growing up. For me, a lot of those memories seem to be housed in certain Christmas decorations.

My favorite Christmas items include the ornaments that my grandpa hand- painted for all of his family each year and the nativity scene that my dad made after graduating from school.

My grandfather was such a talented artist, and I am so, so thankful to have something so beautiful to remind me of him.

The nativity scene that my dad painted is at my parents' house. I know it's hard to see, but he even used some of my grandmother's broken jewelry on the Wise Men. Maybe that's where I got the idea to bling- out my stockings!!! I remember so many nights just staring at the nativity scene by the Christmas tree (I like sparkly things, remember??)

What decorations are special to you???

XOXO,

Kelly
