I've MOVED!

Dear Readers,

I'm writing this to inform you that I've up and left. That's right- I decided it was time for a change. I simply could not take Blogger anymore! Moving forward you can find me here. I do hope you'll stop by and check out my new digs! Things may start to get a little dusty around this old site, you know.

I also want to thank Lisa for helping me get everything situated over at my new place! *The best "moving experience" I've had has been with her. Lisa, do you move people for real?! Kidding... sort of.

Stop by and visit me, please!

Weekend Snippets

... an interesting weekend to be sure. Highlights included (but were not limited to):

Squirrel-watching

Hydrangea- admiring

Peony-purchasing

Tulip- purchasing

Flowerbed mulching

Napping (on a new rug- because she ruined the previous one....)

Random shot of the lamp Christopher surprised me with from Target a few weeks ago. I keep forgetting to share it. *It's right next to our new rug above.

Most peaceful part of our weekend: grilling a quiet meal on Sunday evening

I'm ready to crawl under a rock for a few days, but I guess I'm going to go through this Monday-Friday thing instead.... wish me luck!

Christopher and I head to Vegas next month- for the first time for both of us. I've been thinking about what to pack. Though I've never been, I'm pretty sure Vegas is one place where sequins are always acceptable attire. Here's one outfit I'm imagining:

Kobe Recap

Things I love about Kobe:

The skyline- complete with skyscrapers, mountains, and the ocean

Starbucks- we are missing out here, people. They have frappuccino flavors I've never seen and mini sizes!!!

 Chevron cones :)

Sake- okay, I'm not the biggest fan, but I did a sake tour and at least have an appreciation for the stuff!

Other things not shown: the ice cubes (they're huge and come in really cool shapes), wild boars (we saw one walking back to the hotel from dinner one night), and the shopping (it's endless).

The best thing about business travel? --Coming home to a husband who missed me like crazy and insisted on a fun date night. I am one lucky girl.

Sequins that I've met and loved

I have yet to meet a sequin that I didn't love (well, almost never). Here are just a few that I'm loving.

Back from Kobe

I'm back from Kobe! It's a gorgeous city- similar to Tokyo in some ways and very different in others. *I probably sound like a really stupid American for saying that- like someone saying NYC is similar and different to Chicago. Oh well.

Anyhow, it's a gorgeous city! I have a few pictures that I'll share next week, but in the meantime I wanted to show you some photos of a The Oriental hotel where I ate [twice] while I was there. I was suffering from major hotel envy after spending a few hours there. Actually, we tried to book our rooms at this hotel, but it was sold out. I can't say I'm surprised.

I drank two bloody Marys right here. I also ate cold butter with raisins in it. *We ordered several appetizers and had no idea what most of them were. Apparently it's cool [and totally normal] to eat cold butter, and it's not like we were supposed to be eating it on bread either.

Anyhow, I'm off to respond to all the emails I'm behind on. Oh, and I have a hot date tonight with Mr. Frankel. Cross your fingers that I can stay awake until 9 PM!

My New Favorite Snack: "Street" waffles

Last week one of my colleagues from the Netherlands was in town for a few days and brought with him stroopwafels. *I mistakenly thought he called them street waffles and proceeded to run around [like an idiot] talking about how amazing said street waffles were.

Have you ever tried these little stiff-batter-cookie-like-caramel-filled delightful waffles? Well, you should. I was ready to spend $60 to order a case and have them shipped here, but luckily another one of my coworkers will be traveling through that area soon. I, on the other hand, am heading back to Japan on Friday. This time, I will be avoiding the cookies [remember my fish cookie incident last time?].
