Painted Furniture

After yesterday's post I thought it might be fun to show the different pieces of furniture I've painted over the last few years, starting with my first piece:

A few chairs:

A bed frame:

Some night stands:

Hopefully in a few months, I'll have this guy painted too. It's part of Christopher's parent's first bedroom set. It's HUGE and a really good piece of furniture. I'm not totally set on a color, but I have a few ideas.

For the hardware, I like these:

XOXO,

  2. I love painting furniture. I wish I had more free time to do this. I have two dressers right now that need it desperately.

  3. Do you put a glaze on them too? Not sure by the picture but they look super shiny as well.

  4. No glaze! I've thought about trying, but I either use a semi-gloss or a gloss paint!

  5. Let me know your approach to painting furniture. I've only spray painted a small piece, but I have this big honking dresser I don't know how to approach. Do you always sand?

Your white nightstand looks even more gorgeous with the hardware.

I always sand, but sometimes I only have to do so lightly. I then prime. Depending on the size of the piece, I use a mini roller and finish the details with a paint brush. I do the same with the paint, and I either use semi-gloss or regular gloss.

Hope this helps! It's really quite easy- and you can always sand a layer down if you don't like it the first time around!
