I'll Have My Secretary Get Back to You....

*Please excuse the fact that my blog is currently "under construction". Some things might look different or weird. Hopefully in the next few days they won't!!!

Is it just me, or have there been a lot of beautiful secretary desks published lately??

*How fun would it be to wallpaper the inside of the cabinets?!

And Ashley Putman has one, remember:

I would love to have a secretary in my living room! It's such a traditional piece of furniture; I think it'd be fun to mix it with lucite and other modern accents! Here's what I found on Craigslist:

I'd prefer one that's not painted, but for $150, it's not bad! I love the paneled glass cabinet doors (is that the correct term for them?)!

This one's a serious beauty:

It's $500. That seems like a lot to me (considering Mr. Frankel's in Law School), but it's probably actually very reasonably priced. It'd be great to wallpaper too!!!

This one is only $125, but it doesn't have the paneled glass cabinet doors. Shoot.

Here's my favorite (when you consider price and looks):

At $275, it's much less expensive than the $500 secretary I love (and I'd negotiate for much less anyways). What are your thoughts on this type of furniture?

  3. I really love secretaries and have also been really inspired by those images from Lonny, etc. I love that white one for $150! I would take it in a heartbeat. I haven't seen any on Craigslist here. :( Have a great weekend!

  7. I like that last one and I hope you get it! I think 500 is too much for me, but either way, I'm excited to see how you work it into your home.

  8. These are great! Would you believe last week I found a fabulous one just like the one you want, in an old abandoned house located on our farm?! Along with lots of other goodies! My first thought was to paint it white, now I'm not so sure. Too bad you dont live in NC! -Lauren
