I'm back from Germany, and I had a great time! The weather was lovely, and I got to do a decent amount of exploring even though I was there for work.
Most importantly I MADE IT TO ZARA HOME!!! Of course I purchased the table I wanted for so long. It was quite an adventure trying to take it home though. I thought the table would fit in my suitcase, but apparently I measured wrong. I ended up having to carry it on with me (i.e. I was fondled at security checkpoints, yelled at a few times, and looked at as if I were insane... the usual). It was worth it though, and I'm pretty sure it was entertaining for my coworkers. :)
I'm still working on styling it and figuring out where I want it placed (honestly I'm not too concerned since we're moving in August though).
It's worth mentioning that I attempted to take photos inside Zara Home, and I was immediately asked to stop. Normally I would have sneaked into another area to continue taking photos. The place was full of security guards though, and I didn't feel like assessing the quality of German jails...
Other than purchasing my table from Zara Home the other highlight of my trip was having wine at the Old Opera House:
Beautiful, isn't it? It was restored and reopened in 1981 (after being destroyed during WWII).
It's still up in the air right now, but I may be traveling next month for a few days as well!!! I could get used to globe trotting... :)
LOVE it!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour MIL!!!!!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteWow what an awesome trip! Love the table but it sounds like it was an adventure in itself to get it back!! Really like the pictures.
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect! Glad you made it Zara Home!
ReplyDeleteOMG LOVE the table...so glad you made it back with it. Zara Home sounds amazing!!
ReplyDeleteI love that table. Last year my husband and I went to Spain and Portugal and we bought a painting that I measured wrong and didn't fit in our suitcase either. It went from Spain, to Portugal, back to Spain and finally to the US all as a carry-on. Quite the adventure!
ReplyDeleteFor a work trip this all sounds pretty amazing! I'm so glad you were able to find that table...and not get arrested too. :) I really like that lamp styled with the table too. Great contrast!
ReplyDeleteZara has a home store? Wow! That table is incredible!
