Today is my 26th birthday!  Mr. Frankel has finals next week, so we will wait to celebrate until after he's finished. I did, however, get my gift from him:

I LOVE it and Luca does too obviously! The colors are amazing- pinks, reds, oranges and navy. Apparently I have one more surprise coming later this week..... the suspense is killing me. ;)

... the "Outlandish Birthday Registry" that is. I have wanted a persian rug forEVER. I've been talking  bothering Mr. Frankel about getting one for over a year when I started noticing them pop up in kitchens in all the shelter magazines.

My Moorish Rug Has Arrived!

Today's post is short and sweet! Remember the rug that I ordered a few weeks ago??? Well, it arrived on my doorstep yesterday! I'm very happy with it! I'm especially happy with the fact that it's reversible, so if Luca decides to "go potty outside" on my Moorish rug, I can flip it over (after I clean it, of course). 

The rug is available in many sizes and colors! I would love to have ordered a huge one, but I have no need for an area-sized rug right now. Christopher is fine with me collecting felt-tip pens, but I have a feeling he wouldn't approve of me collecting area rugs...

Moorish Tile Rug

I've been selling items on Craigslist over the last two weeks, so I decided it would be OK to make a little purchase with some of my "earnings". I ordered a runner for our upstairs hallway; if we planned to stay in 1551 long term I would have ordered two to make a runner for our stairs (more on all that tomorrow). I LOVE this rug; Pottery Barn had a beautiful version a while back. This one is from Garnet Hill; it's marked down right now (special pricing lasts until Tuesday), and I had a coupon for an additional 20% off. After all the discounts the runner ended up costing me $107.

I can't wait until it arrives!!!
